Uppfattningen om platsen påverkas av de ljudrum vi är i och medskapar. Shida Shahabis verk består av en ljudkartläggning och ton- analys av olika geografiska platser i Husby. Resultatet framförs genom ljudstycken på brassinstrument, och en ljudinstallation. Arbetet utforskar funktioner av ljudsignaler i staden och vad de vill säga. |
How we perceive a location is influenced by the sound-dimension in which we find our- selves. “Local Composing” consists of a sound mapping and tonal analysis of various locations in Husby. The work examines the functions of sound signals in the city and what they are trying to communicate. |
| Shida Shahabi (född 1989) går Kandidatprogramet på Kungl. Konsthögskolan i Stockholm och är en före detta student på Pernbys Målarskola i Stockholm. I sin praktik experimenterar Shida Shahabi med olika material och grupper, och använder mest musik och orkestrering som verktyg. I sitt pågående arbete utreder Shahabi sätt att stå i opposition, ljud av den offentliga rösten och den politiska användningen av populärmusik. | Shida Shahabi (born 1989) is on her second year of the bachelor’s program in the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and a former student on Pernbys Målarskola in Stockholm. In her practice Shida Shahabi experiments with different communities, material, and groups, mostly using music and orchestration as tools. In her ongoing work Shahabi investigates ways of standing in opposition, sounds of the public voice and the political uses of popular music. |
