Open Space“Open Space” is a manifestation of the significant interspaces in the suburb of Husby. The work describes these interspaces using one or more mirrors. The space is viewed in mirror image at the same time that the viewer sees herself in this Utopia. In her work entitled ”Displaced”, impressions are taken of parts of the spaces using plaster bandages, and these impressions are then placed in new locations. | Anna Hesselgren är en svensk konstnär, baserad i Stockholm. Hennes arbete utvecklar en slags relationell estetik i undersökningen av det offentliga rummet och dess möjligheter. Hon intresserar sig för maktstrukturerna i det offentliga rummet tillsammans med förhandlingarna om vilken typ av gemenskapen som ska vara den gemensamma grunden. Sedan 2008 har hon utvecklat projektet SAMP – ett interaktivt projekt i det offentliga rummet. SAMP har genomförts 8 gånger, bland annat vid Växjö konsthall och Borås konstmuseum Se www.stillalive.eu. | Anna Hesselgren is a Swedish artist, based in Stockholm. Her work evolves a kind of relational aesthetics in the investigation of the public space and its possibilities. Her interest is in the powerstructures of the public space together with the negotiation of what sort of community to aim for in a common ground.
